A computed tomography (CT) calcium score test measures calcium buildup in the arteries that supply blood to the heart. It can help patients and doctors better understand a person’s risk for cardiovascular diseases, and may help guide treatment for those with low to moderate risk of heart disease or help those whose heart disease risk is not clear.
