Learning how to count during surgery is one of the most challenging tasks a surgical tech student has. It’s very overwhelming for them to keep track of all the moving parts during mock surgeries while also learning to count field, mayo, backtable then off the field and who verbalizes each. We practice this many times in skills before my students go to clinicals so I know they can feel confident for their first actual OR experience and counting during a surgery. #surgtech101 #surgtechstudent #sts
