Our AAA Screening Programme was launched in April 2012 and since then has screened over 35,000 men across the region. An Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) is an enlargement of the main blood vessel in the abdomen and, if left untreated, can be fatal. The condition is six times more common in males, with men in the 65 age group most at risk.
