ESA's Cheops, or 'Characterising Exoplanet Satellite', will study known exoplanets that are orbiting bright stars. The aim is to obtain detailed information about these planets to find out more about their composition and internal structure. Here's a quick look at the science behind #Cheops, ESA’s first mission to focus on #exoplanets, or planets beyond our Solar System, orbiting stars other than the Sun. Cheops is scheduled for launch between 15 October and 14 November 2019.
