DPP Vice-President Jappie Mhango Defends Election Transparency After MCP Allegations Lilongwe, Malawi – 21 September 2025 – The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) vice-president for the Northern Region, Jappie Mhango, addressed a press briefing today, defending the transparency of the 16th September 2025 elections. Mhango stressed that the polls were conducted in a credible manner, pointing out that the Malawi Police Service, journalists, and party monitors were present at every polling station.
