Fun Nokia Facts: Nokia was founded as a pulp-mill in 1865 and took the name from the small town where its second mill was located. Nokia moved into electricity generation and later partnered with rubber and cable manufacturing businesses becoming (locally) famous for making sturdy rubber boots.
