It was wonderful to be back at National Library Board, Singapore’s Donors’ Appreciation Night. This year’s event was especially significant as it brought together past and present donors to mark NLB’s 30th anniversary. Among the items donated over the years are song lyrics and notes by singer and actress Nona Asiah; Tamil translations of Shakespeare’s manuscripts by fellow Cultural Medallion recipient P. Krishnan; and air-dropped leaflets from the Second World War and Malayan Emergency by Dr Ben

When you go in, you can borrow books or other materials for free. Why I want to volunteer in the library is because I want to give back.
