Scotland the Brave into the Rowan Tree played by The Vale of Atholl Pipe Band as they entertained crowds during the 2025 Pitlochry New Year Street Party. The band were entertaining crowds on Atholl Road during their second display for this event, before they marched off back into Fishers Hotel. The massed Pipe Bands playing Rowan Tree into Wings as they marching through Crieff, making their way to the 2025 Crieff Highland Gathering in Perthshire, Scotland. This was on Sunday 17th August 2025 and this was just one of the groups of bands marching through the town. The rowan tree holds a special place in Celtic folklore. Known as fid na ndruad, “The Wizard Tree”, it was believed to offer protection, warding off witches, and symbolising safely.
