Veneration of the saints is one of the most misunderstood Catholic beliefs. To truly understand this belief, we only need to go to St. Paul in the Scriptures. In his letter to the Colossians (Col 1:2,12) and Hebrews (Heb 12:3), St. Paul confirms the saints on earth (what we call the "Church Militant") and the saints in heaven (the "Church Triumphant").
