Reiner explains that the moment occurs during the Cliffs of Insanity sequence, when Westley is climbing the rock face. The shot was created using back projection, and even at the time of filming, Reiner wasn’t fully satisfied with how it looked. While the shot worked from a technical standpoint, he felt it didn’t quite match the realism of the surr
