The first flight of the Boeing 757 on February 19, 1982. Production began at Boeing’s Renton plant on March 23, 1979 although orders for the type were sparse. The first Boeing 757, N757A, was rolled out of the plant on January 13, 1982 and flew for the first time on February 19 with project test pilot John Armstrong at the controls.
