女性はかつて、伝統的な慣習である「女性性器切除(FGM/C)」をおこなう施術師でした。しかし、正しい知識を得た今、女性はその行為を後悔し、女性器切除の有害性を啓発する活動を率先して行うとともに、助産師となり新しい命を取り上げています。 ＊ ＊ ＊ 2月6日は「#女性器切除の根絶のための国際デー」です。 女性性器切除(#FGM/C)とは、アフリカや中東などで行われている、女性の性器の一部を切除してしまう慣習で、処置を受けた女の子や女性は、出血が続き、感染症や不妊、死のリスクにさらされます。女子と女性の人権侵害であるとともに、健康面及び精神面で長期的な影響を及ぼす悪しき慣習です。 ユニセフは、UNFPA（国連人口基金）とともに、FGM/C根絶に向けた世界的プログラムを推進しています。FGM/Cの慣習を根絶するために、各国政府、コミュニティ、宗教指導者、その他多数のパートナーなど、あらゆるレベルの関係者と協力して活動しています。 そして今、世界中で、FGM/Cの根絶に向けた機運が高まっています。ユニセフやUNFPAがFGM/Cの根絶に向けて協同する国々においては、この有害な慣習を受ける女の子
