another mini tutorial! i got so many requests for sketching a hand that i just went ahead and made this. to be honest, it was really hard trying to keep this short and concise. there's just so much about hands that you can only really learn by studying them.. this is just a simplified, stylized approach! i personally feel that the more detail you add to hands, the weirder they can start to look, so i like to keep it fairly simple and focus mainly on the expressiveness of the hands. that's just m

Here’s a little process video for Flame, an older painting of mine! The most important steps are the first ones: making the sketch and setting up the colors. My latest mini tutorial - sketching an afro (or basically just tight, volumous curls)! The main thing about drawing this hairstyle is to try and draw in the detail where it's really needed.
